U-1 stop plate is a rail fastening component designed to fix the rail position in the horizontal plane and to absorb lateral loads generated by passing rolling stock. It is installed on the outer side of the rail on the baseplate, preventing rail displacement and loosening. It is used in clip-type and combined fastening systems on railway tracks of various categories.

Description and design

The U-1 stop plate is manufactured in accordance with DSTU GOST 24741-81 from structural steel. The design consists of a bent steel plate with a bearing surface that contacts the rail web. The shape and dimensions ensure reliable rail retention on the baseplate under dynamic and vibrational loads. Fastening is carried out using an M22 clip bolt and an M22 track nut.

Manufactured by hot stamping followed by machining;
The working surface is profiled to match the rail web, ensuring tight contact;
Anti-corrosion coating protects the metal from moisture and chemical agents;
Suitable for use with KR-70 and KR-80 rails;
Service life — not less than 25 years under standard track operating conditions.

Application

U-1 stop plates are used in rail fastening systems of types KB, KBL, KP, and similar systems when installing R-50 and R-65 rails. They are installed on the outer side of the baseplate and provide transverse rail stability. Applied on mainline, station, and industrial railway lines, including sections with increased loads.
