U-2 stop plate is a rail fastening component designed to prevent lateral rail displacement and to absorb horizontal loads generated by rolling stock movement. It is installed on the baseplate on the outer side of the rail and used as part of clip-type rail fastening systems. The stop plate ensures track stability and prevents loosening of the fastening under vibration and impact loads.

Description and design

The U-2 stop plate is manufactured in accordance with DSTU GOST 24741-81 from high-strength structural steel. The design consists of a bent plate with a bearing section that follows the profile of the rail web, ensuring tight contact and effective transfer of lateral forces. The plate is installed together with an M24 clip bolt and an M24 nut, providing reliable fixation of the rail on the baseplate.

Geometry corresponds to KR-100 rail profiles;
Contact surfaces are ground to ensure tight contact with the rail;
Heat treatment increases strength and wear resistance of the product;
The coating provides protection against corrosion and mechanical wear;
Service life — not less than 25 years under standard track operating conditions.

Application

U-2 stop plates are used in rail fastening systems of types KB, KBL, KP and similar systems, installed on the outer side of the baseplate. They are applied in high-load sections, turnouts, and station and industrial railway tracks. The plates ensure precise rail fixation and prevent rail displacement and lateral wear of fastening components.
