Reinforced concrete sleeper Sh-1-1 is an element of the railway track superstructure designed for installation under rails on mainline and station tracks with intensive traffic. It ensures track gauge stability, high load-bearing capacity, and long service life under heavy dynamic loads.

Description and Design

Reinforced concrete sleepers of type Sh-1-1 are manufactured in accordance with DSTU B V.2.6-2:2009 (GOST 10629-88) from heavy concrete of class not lower than B30 with pre-stressed reinforcement. The sleeper design provides strength, geometric stability, and track reliability when operating trains with axle loads up to 25 t/axle. Embedded components are provided on the top surface for installation of rail pads and fastening elements.

Concrete frost resistance — not lower than F200;
Water resistance — not less than W6;
Manufacturing accuracy — up to ±2 mm in length and ±1 mm in height;
Working holes for anchors and fastenings are made at the factory;
Service life — at least 50 years under standard operating loads.

Application

Sh-1-1 sleepers are used in the construction and repair of mainline and station tracks, as well as access tracks with high axle loads. They are compatible with rail types R-50 and R-65 and all modern rail fastening systems such as ZhBR-65, KB-65, KP-65, and equivalents. The sleepers are used on public railways and industrial facilities.
