Reinforced concrete sleeper Sh-1-3 — an element of the railway track superstructure designed for operation on main lines with increased axle loads and high traffic speeds. It is used on public railway lines, station yards, and sections with intensive freight traffic, ensuring track gauge stability and long service life.

Description and design

Sleeper type Sh-1-3 is manufactured in accordance with DSTU B V.2.6-209:2016 (GOST 10629-88) from high-strength heavy concrete reinforced with pre-stressed steel. The design is intended for operation under loads of up to 25 t/axle and traffic speeds of up to 160 km/h. The upper part of the sleeper is equipped with anchor assemblies and seats for elastic rail fastening elements (KP-65, KP-75, ZhBR-65).

High-strength and frost-resistant concrete (F200 and higher);
Water impermeability not less than W8;
High resistance to vibrations and cyclic loads;
Manufacturing geometric accuracy — ±1.5 mm in length and height;
Service life — at least 50 years under standard operating conditions.

Application

Reinforced concrete sleepers Sh-1-3 are used in the construction and major overhaul of main railway tracks where increased requirements for strength and track stability apply. They are compatible with rails of types R65, 60E1, UIC60, R50 and all modern elastic and anchor fastening systems. Widely used on heavy-haul and high-speed lines, as well as in marshalling yards and arrival/departure tracks.
