«Lyagusha» wheel chock is a track equipment component designed to prevent unintended movement of rolling stock and to secure railcars on railway tracks. It is used during shunting operations, loading, unloading, and parking of railcars. The chock reliably fixes the wheel and prevents it from rolling on gradients.

Description and design

The «Lyagusha» wheel chock is manufactured in accordance with DSTU GOST 15150-69 and is a robust metal device with a wedge-shaped roll-on stop and a fixing hook that engages the rail. When a wheel rolls onto the chock, it smoothly climbs the ramp, where the guiding surface positions it into the holding position. The design ensures tight contact with the rail head and prevents displacement under load.

Manufactured from hardened structural steel with increased strength;
The design is rated for static loads of up to 150 kN;
The hook profile is adapted for R-50 and R-65 rail types;
The coating protects against corrosion, precipitation, and contamination;
Service life — not less than 10 years with regular maintenance.

Application

«Lyagusha» wheel chocks are used on industrial, station, and shunting tracks. They are applied for temporary securing of railcars on gradients, during loading and unloading operations, and during technical inspections. Thanks to the roll-on stop, the wheel is smoothly positioned onto the chock without impact, reducing wear on both the wheel tread and the rail.
