P-2 clamping plate is a rail fastening component designed to secure the rail foot to the baseplate using a clip bolt. It is used during the installation and maintenance of railway tracks to ensure the strength and stability of the rail fastening system. The plate works in combination with a clip, nut, and baseplate, preventing rail displacement and loosening under dynamic loads.

Description and design

The P-2 clamping plate is manufactured in accordance with DSTU GOST 24741-81 from high-quality structural steel. It has a curved shape that ensures tight clamping of the rail foot to the baseplate. The upper part is profiled to match the rail shape, eliminating lateral movement and ensuring uniform force distribution during tightening of the clip bolt. The steel undergoes heat treatment and is coated with an anti-corrosion layer to extend service life.

Manufactured by hot stamping followed by machining;
The shape ensures reliable rail retention without misalignment;
The surface is protected with zinc or phosphate coating;
Metal hardness — not less than 200 HB;
Service life — up to 25 years under standard track loads.

Application

P-2 clamping plates are used in clip-type railway fastening systems of types KB, KBL, and KP when installing KR-80 rails. They are applied on wooden and reinforced concrete sleepers during construction, repair, and modernization of railway lines. Compatible with M22 clip bolts, M22 track nuts, and ShS-22 spring washers.
