Extended anchor bolt is a rail fastening component designed to secure baseplates and clip elements on railway sleepers, especially in locations where additional pad layers are used or an increased threaded length is required. It ensures reliable clamping of the rail to the baseplate and track stability under dynamic loads.

Description and design

Extended anchor bolts are manufactured in accordance with DSTU GOST 16017-79 from high-strength structural steel. The design includes a rectangular head that prevents rotation during installation and an extended threaded shank, allowing installation with increased thickness of fastening components. The bolt surface is protected with an anti-corrosion coating for operation in high-humidity conditions.

The rectangular head is securely fixed in the slot of the baseplate or foundation;
The extended threaded section allows nut installation with increased thickness of baseplates or clips;
The material withstands tensile loads of up to 200 kN;
Quenching and tempering provide resistance to deformation and metal fatigue;
Service life — not less than 20 years under standard track operating conditions.

Application

Extended anchor bolts are used in rail fastening systems of types KB, KBL, KP, and other systems requiring increased fastener length. They are applied during installation of railway tracks, turnouts, bridges, and industrial sections. Compatible with M22–M24 nuts and spring, double-coil, or flat washers in accordance with GOST 6402 and GOST 11371.
