Since 2010, Prombudkoliya has been carrying out lifting and alignment of railway tracks on mainline, industrial, and station sections. We restore track geometry, eliminate settlements and irregularities, stabilize the track structure, and extend the service life of the track superstructure. All works are performed in accordance with Ukrzaliznytsia technical requirements using modern track maintenance machinery.
Prombudkoliya operates a full fleet of VPO-3000 and VPRS machines, ballast hoppers, and ballast regulators, enabling high-speed and high-precision alignment works without interrupting traffic on adjacent tracks.
Track lifting and alignment are technological operations aimed at restoring the correct position of the rail–sleeper grid in both horizontal alignment and longitudinal profile. The purpose is to eliminate geometric distortions caused by ballast settlement, temperature-related deformation, or dynamic loads, and to ensure traffic safety and smooth train operation.
Performed using mechanized tamping and alignment machines. The track is uniformly lifted to the specified height, ballast is placed beneath the sleepers, and layer-by-layer compaction is carried out with continuous geometry control. This process eliminates settlements and restores the longitudinal profile.
Correction of rail and sleeper positions relative to the design axis is performed using laser and geodetic control systems. After alignment, the track achieves optimal curve parameters, gradients, and sleeper spacing.
Tamping is carried out simultaneously with alignment to compact ballast beneath the sleepers. This ensures uniform load distribution from rolling stock and increases overall track stability.
Following alignment, mechanical stabilization is performed to fix the new track position. Dynamic track stabilizers are used to simulate train loads, preventing further settlement and vibration.
Instrumental control is conducted using geodetic instruments, laser systems, and track measuring trolleys. Track gauge, cant, twist, rail elevation, and longitudinal profile are verified. Results are documented in as-built technical records.
Lifting and alignment of 3.5 km of track with elimination of settlements and ballast renewal. Works were completed within 12 days without interrupting train traffic.
Sleeper tamping, stabilization, and track gauge control were performed on an 8 km section. Following completion, the permissible operating speed was increased to 90 km/h.
Track lifting and alignment with restoration of the ballast layer were completed within 7 days, including preparation of as-built documentation.
The recommended interval is every 3–5 years, depending on traffic intensity and ballast condition.
