Manual turnout mechanism (switch stand) — a device for operating railway turnouts on industrial and siding tracks. It is designed for manual switching of switch points from one position to another with secure locking in the selected position.

Description and design

Manual turnout mechanisms are manufactured in accordance with DSTU B V.2.3-11-2003 and are used for turnouts of grades 1/6, 1/7, 1/9 with rails R-43, R-50 and R-65. The design includes a housing, ratchet unit, operating lever, connecting rod system and a locking device.

Housing made of cast steel or cast iron;
Force transmission to the switch via a rod system with shaft;
Reliable locking of the switch position using a lock and wedge;
Compatibility with mechanical and electric turnout drives (during modernization).

Application and installation

Manual mechanisms are installed on turnouts of industrial, siding and station tracks with low to medium traffic intensity. Installation is carried out on a metal base or wooden support, with connection to the rods via a hinged joint.
