Fishplate R-24 is an element of the railway track superstructure designed for strong joint connection of R-24 type rails. It ensures track stability, uniform load distribution, and accurate gauge geometry when used on industrial, construction, and temporary railway sections.

Description and Design

R-24 joint fishplates are manufactured in accordance with GOST 8141-56 from structural steel with subsequent heat treatment to increase strength and wear resistance. The fishplate profile fully matches the R-24 rail contour, ensuring tight fit and reliable rail fixation at the joint. All bolt holes are manufactured with high precision to prevent displacement and loosening of the joint.

Working surfaces are milled to ensure tight contact with the rail web;
Heat treatment provides hardness of at least 240 HB;
Manufacturing by hot forging or casting is permitted (cast steel 20GL);
Anti-corrosion protection: phosphating or oil-based protective coating;
Service life: up to 30 years under standard operating loads.

Application

R-24 fishplates are used for joining R-24 rails on industrial, access, and low-traffic tracks, as well as on construction and technological branches. They are applied during installation and maintenance of light-duty railway tracks forming temporary or auxiliary lines at industrial facilities.
