Technical parameters:
R-18 Rail Baseplate — an element of the railway superstructure designed for installation under light-type R-18 rails. It ensures uniform distribution of rail pressure on the sleeper, protects the timber from wear, and prevents rail displacement under vibration loads. It is used on light-duty and industrial railway tracks, as well as on construction and technological sidings.
R-18 baseplates are manufactured in accordance with TU U 30.2-31932840-002:2021 (DSTU 3799-98) (GOST 8142-89) from hot-rolled steel. The design is a metal plate with a seat matching the rail foot and two holes for spike fastening. The baseplate surface is carefully processed to ensure tight rail contact, which increases track stability and extends sleeper service life.
R-18 baseplates are used on light-duty industrial railway tracks, temporary and construction lines, as well as narrow-gauge sections. They are installed with wooden sleepers and R-18 rails fastened using 14×130 mm spikes or track screws.
