Reinforced concrete sleeper Sh-1-2 is an element of the railway track superstructure designed for installing heavy-type rails on main lines with intensive train traffic and increased axle loads. It ensures reliable track gauge fixation and uniform load distribution onto the ballast foundation.

Description and design

Sleepers of type Sh-1-2 are manufactured in accordance with DSTU B V.2.6-2:2009 (GOST 10629-88) from high-strength concrete of class F200 with pre-stressed reinforcement. The design features increased strength, allowing the use of this sleeper type on sections with intensive freight traffic and high-speed passenger trains. Embedded elements are provided on the sleeper surface for mounting rail pads and fastening systems of the KB-65 type and their equivalents.

The concrete is resistant to moisture, frost, and vibrations;
Frost resistance: not lower than F200;
Water permeability: W8;
Geometric accuracy: ±2 mm in length and ±1 mm in height;
Service life: at least 50 years under standard loads.

Application

Reinforced concrete sleepers Sh-1-2 are used on main and receiving/departure tracks of main railway lines, as well as on industrial railway branches with high loads. They are compatible with R-50 rail types and modern rail fastening systems, including anchor and elastic types. They are applied in capital construction and modernization of public railway tracks.
