Technical specifications:
Switch point shoes are components of turnout equipment designed to fix and support the movable parts of a turnout (switch points) in a specified position. They ensure stable and safe positioning of the switch during the passage of rolling stock, preventing unintended displacement or divergence of the switch points. They are used in turnout structures of all types installed on mainline and industrial railway lines.
Switch point shoes are manufactured in accordance with DSTU GOST 33535-2015 (GOST 8816-2003) from high-strength structural steel. The shoe design includes a body with a bearing surface, a guiding section, and a locking element that interacts with the rail foot and web. Depending on the turnout design, the shoes may be removable or fixed. The working surfaces are hardened and machined to increase wear resistance.
Switch point shoes are used on mainline, station, and industrial railway lines. They are installed in the contact zones between switch rails and stock rails, where they ensure tight contact of the switch points in the set position. Applied in turnouts of types SPR-50, SPR-65, and similar, both with manual and centralized actuation. They are also used during major and routine maintenance of turnouts.
