Rail Drilling Machine RSS-1M is a portable electric tool designed for drilling holes in rails during railway track installation and repair. It is used for installing joint fishplates, bolts, as well as for mounting turnout components. The machine ensures high drilling accuracy and significantly reduces work time.

Description and Design

The RSS-1M machine is manufactured in accordance with DSTU standards and is a compact unit featuring an electric drive, gearbox, and drill feed mechanism. The machine is secured to the rail using a quick-clamping bracket that provides rigid fixation during operation. Drill feed is performed manually via a handwheel, allowing precise control of drilling depth.

Aluminum alloy housing reduces tool weight while maintaining high strength;
The spindle assembly is made of hardened steel and is highly wear-resistant;
The drive is protected against overload and overheating by a built-in thermal relay;
The machine is equipped with guide bushings for accurate drill positioning;
Soft start function ensures safety and extends the service life of the electric motor.

Application

The RSS-1M is used for drilling holes for joint fishplates and bolts in rails of types R-43, R-50, R-65, and R-75. It is applied during turnout installation, mounting of signaling equipment, and track repair works. The machine is widely used by track and maintenance crews, providing high precision and clean hole machining on the rail track.
