Baseplate K-2

K-2 baseplate is a turnout component designed for installing and securely fastening rails to sleepers or timbers. It ensures uniform distribution of rail pressure, track stability, and precise positioning of turnout elements during the passage of rolling stock.

Description and design

K-2 type baseplates are manufactured in accordance with DSTU GOST 34078:2019 and are used in turnouts with R-50 and R-65 rail types. The baseplate is a steel plate with cut-outs for the rail foot and holes for spikes or bolts. The working surface provides tight rail seating and stability under dynamic loads.

• Manufactured from hot-rolled high-strength steel;
• Spike holes are made with a conical chamfer;
• The surface is ground to ensure precise contact with the rail foot;
• Can be installed under both the stock rail and the guard rail of the turnout.

Application

K-2 baseplates are used during installation of turnouts, frogs, and guide rails. They are applied on tracks with intensive traffic, ensuring stability and accurate geometry of the rail assembly. Compatible with R-50 and R-65 rail types and turnout mechanisms SPR-24, SPR-50, and SPR-65.
