S-1 tie rod is a turnout component designed to connect wooden or reinforced concrete timbers on which the turnout is installed. It ensures preservation of track geometry, stability of rail positioning, and reliable operation of the turnout under dynamic loads.

Description and design

S-1 type tie rods are manufactured in accordance with DSTU GOST 34663-2020 and are used in turnouts with R-43, R-50, and R-65 rail types. The design consists of a steel rod with threaded ends and is supplied with washers and nuts for fastening. During installation, the tie rod is passed through holes in sleepers or timbers, clamping them together.

The body is made of a steel rod with a diameter of 20 mm;
Metric threads are cut on both ends for nut installation;
Used together with washers and lock nuts;
Supplied zinc-plated or with phosphate coating for corrosion protection.

Application

The S-1 tie rod is used during installation of turnouts and frogs, as well as for reinforcing timber grids beneath turnout mechanisms. It is applied on mainline and industrial railway tracks where structural rigidity must be maintained under vibration and dynamic loads from rolling stock.
