Product type: Railway dowel
Material: Structural steel 09G2S, 20, 35, or malleable cast iron KCh30-6; zinc-plated or phosphated surface
Technical parameters:
Dowel — a metal fastening element of the railway track designed to hold the rail in the required position on the sleeper. It is used as part of clamp-type or spike-type rail fastening systems, providing firm clamping of the rail foot to the baseplate and preventing longitudinal displacement under loads from rolling stock.
The dowel is manufactured in accordance with TU 32 TsP 587-78 from high-quality structural steel or malleable cast iron. The design consists of a metal rod with a curved or straight working part and a head intended to retain the clamp or baseplate. A recess is formed in the upper part to ensure tight rail clamping and track stability. To protect against corrosion, the surface is treated with zinc or phosphate coating.
Dowels are used in rail fastening systems to secure clamps and rail feet on wooden and reinforced concrete sleepers. They are applied on mainline, station, turnout, and industrial tracks. The dowels ensure track stability under vibration and dynamic loads and prevent transverse and longitudinal rail displacement.
